Our nest boxes have been designed so that egg collection and cleaning out is easy for the poultry keeper. They are built using 16mm pressure treated shiplap timber. The roof is 9mm plastic coated ply (phenolic faced plywood), making these nest boxes totally waterproof and maintenance free. The other main advantage of this is that red mite has not got any where to hide unlike felt roofed nest boxes, helping to prevent red mite infestations.
